Are there any legal regulations surrounding militias?

Yes. in Pennsylvania, those militias whose purpose to conduct civil unrest are illegal. The United States Unified Militia is only training to maintain order in a time of chaos. Also, 10 U.S. Code § 246 states militias are comprised of non-currently serving military personnel.

The United States Unified Militia is not a security force or a paramilitary organization. We do not participate in rally's, protests or political demonstrations. Thus we do not have the ability or desire to cause civil unrest.

By law of The United States Of America

The Unted States Unified Militia will NOT allow entry by those with a criminal record. You must be of good moral conduct and character. Those who cannot legally own a firearm or vote will be denied membership. Those who attempt to falsify their record will be immediately reported to law enforcement. Consider this your formal warning.

Be at least 18 years old at the time of enlistment

The United States Unified Militia will only accept those who are of legal age. Due to the potentially hazardous nature of firearms and the inability of those under the age of 18 to sign legally binding contracts, we will not be able to accept those not considered a legal adult.

Don't let this sway you from showing interest, The United States Unified Militia has several fund-raising events per year, as well as community clean up events and is always looking for volunteers!

Have your own gear

The United States Unified Militia does not and will not supply its members with firearms under ANY circumstances. You are responsible for your own gear, including rifle, side arm and appropriate PPE related to range events. If you do not have your own PPE you will not be permitted on USUM ranges until you meet the minimum safety threshold.  You have 180 days (6 Months) from enlistment to acquire these items.

Be Reliable

The United States Unified Militia will not tolerate excessive tardiness or no shows. We are a volunteer group, so we depend on each of our members to help with range maintenance, and event staffing.

Be willing to undergo a background check

The United States Unified Militia prides itself on making sure that we offer a safe and sane environment for all of our members. You will be required to sign a full Non Disclosure agreement, conduct a pre recruit interview in person and submit to a background check prior to becoming a member. There are no exceptions for this rule.

Political neutrality

The United States Unified Militia has a zero-tolerance policy regarding political, racial, or religious views while in uniform or while representing our brand. The constitution was written for all Americans, not just a few. Expect to refrain from all discussion or demonstration while with or around members of USUM.

Be willing to wear a uniform

The United States Unified Militia is a fully uniformed Militia. Each member is required to wear the uniform and the appropriate patches and adornments for their rank and status. USUM does not permit civilian attire on training ranges or at events. This is for identification purposes and is strictly enforced.
