It is the responsibility of the gun owner to verify legality when carrying a weapon in and out of the state. We recommend calling the sheriffs non-emergency line to confirm legality when taking a gun during interstate travel.
During the initial weeks of President Donald Trump's second administration, Second Amendment advocacy groups felt excluded from the conservative wave sweeping Washington. Some even questioned the commitment of Trump's top job picks gun rights, vowing to hold their "feet to the fire and resist any attempts to erode Americans' right keep and bear arms.
However, after signing a pro-gun order and making critical staff changes, appointing Kash Patel as the acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (F), these groups are expressing satisfaction and, hope for the elimination of the ATF, which they view as their ultimate goal.
Over the weekend, the nation's leading Second Amendment groups expressed their approval of Trump's actions, stating that gun owners and sellers would benefit. NRA Executive Vice president and CEO Doug Hamlin said the NRA welcomes President Trump's continued efforts protect America's gun rights by reforming the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Far too long, the ATF has focused its efforts on restricting the law-abiding citizens."
Hamlin added that Patel, seen as a pro-gun advocate who along with Attorney General Pam Bondi, is to Trump's executive order to dismantle Joe Bidens gun control measures. Patel, he said "will set the agency on right track to implement President Trump's executive order to protect Second Amendment rights and will that the agency has strong leadership until a permanent director is confirmed by the Senate."
Under Biden, the agency had imposed on what people could legally and easily buy, and had threatened gun dealers.
Harrisburg, PA – Pennsylvania Gun Rights announced the filing of Constitutional Carry in the 2025-2026 legislative session of the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
After several strategy discussions between PAGR and Representative Aaron Bernstine (R-08) of Butler County, Bernstine introduced Constitutional Carry on the floor of the House of Representatives.
“Constitutional Carry is the simple concept that if you can lawfully possess a firearm, you should be able to carry that firearm without having to jump through bureaucratic hoops and without having to repurchase your Second Amendment right from the government,” explained PAGR Executive Director Craig Storrs, Jr.
More than 150 million Americans live in the 29 states with active Constitutional Carry laws, including New England states like Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
“With the number of Constitutional Carry states rising and crime decreasing in these states after passage, it should be a no-brainer for legislators in Harrisburg to support the God-given Constitutional Rights of their constituents by pushing this bill straight to Governor Shapiro’s desk,” proclaimed National Association for Gun Rights Director of State Affairs, Dustin Curtis.
This session marks the first time Constitutional Carry has been introduced in four years after similar legislation passed both chambers of the General Assembly, only to be vetoed by then-Governor Tom Wolf in 2021.
“On behalf of its thousands of members across the Commonwealth, Pennsylvania Gun Rights expects a prompt hearing and vote on Constitutional Carry,” Storrs explained.
“We look forward to holding members accountable to their constituents regarding their support or opposition to Pennsylvanians’ Second Amendment rights,” concluded Storrs.
Pennsylvania Gun Rights is the fastest growing “no compromise” pro-gun organization in the Keystone State. PAGR is the Pennsylvania affiliate of the National Association for Gun Rights, the nation’s largest “no compromise” pro-gun organization, with 4.5 million members nationwide.
